The first Basel Data Protection Law Conference is a continuing education event organized by the Basel Faculty of Law under the title "Recht aktuell". It is aimed at lawyers and other professionals who have to deal with questions of data protection law in their practice. It is also aimed at legal scholars with an interest in data protection law as well as other people from politics, administration and economics who want to familiarize themselves with the central innovations in the revised DPA.

On April 21, 2023, the first data protection law conference was held on the subject of "The revised Data Protection Act (DPA) - What's in store for whom?". The most important innovations, their significance for companies, public authorities and associations, risks and opportunities, data protection supervision and the impact on employment and social security law were discussed.
