Of Rules and Tools: Rethinking Pathways for Advancing NAMs Through Law and Technology (Working Paper)
New approach methodologies (NAMs) based on organoid technology have great potential to replace or reduce animal testing. However, several scientific, technical, regulatory, and societal challenges block their adoption. Against this background, the paper outlines the possible legal and technical tools that could – in a next step – be used to draft sound policy measures for a broader uptake of NAMs in Switzerland.
