SUMMARY:Legal framework for artificial intelligence in Switzerland
DESCRIPTION:Algorithmic systems\, often referred to as "artificial intellig
 ence\," are having an ever greater influence on our society\, everyday lif
 e\, and individual rights. In legal terms\, transparency requirements and 
 protection against discrimination and manipulation are of particular inter
 est. How should Swiss law respond to these challenges?\\r\\nInternationall
 y\, regulatory efforts are advancing. The Federal Council recently decided
  that Switzerland should participate in Council of Europe negotiations on 
 a binding legal framework for the application of AI. This is intended to d
 evelop a future international regulatory framework based on existing law. 
 Innovations are to be promoted while at the same time ensuring respect for
  human rights.\\r\\nThe current challenges in the development of a legal f
 ramework for AI will be addressed by the event of the research project "Le
 gal Framework for Artificial Intelligence in Switzerland"\, which is funde
 d by the Mercator Switzerland Foundation.\\r\\nAdmission is free. The numb
