SUMMARY:Artificial intelligence at a crossroads. Navigating between innovat
 ion and regulation
DESCRIPTION:Artificial intelligence is no longer just science fiction\, but
an integral part of our world. From self-driving cars and personalized re
commendations on streaming platforms to automated tax assessments - AI is
everywhere and has experienced an enormous upswing in recent years. AI off
ers both opportunities and challenges. From a legal perspective\, this rai
ses the question: how do we navigate between innovation and regulation?\\r
\\nIn our Tour d'Horizon\, we take a look at legislative projects at inter
national\, national and local level - from the EU and the Council of Europ
e to the federal government and cantons. What do the laws and regulations
in this area look like and what influence do they have on the development
and use of AI? Who is focusing on innovation and who is focusing on regula
tion? Who manages to combine both goals? On this themed evening\, we will
address these questions and discuss the balancing act between innovation a
nd regulation.\\r\\nDate: November 27\, 2024 Meeting point: 18:00\; UB Mai
